LABORATORY OF ELECTRO PHOTONICS TECHNOLOGIES AND LASER SYSTEMS
The importance of photonics applications is a vital part of our contemporary society. Photonics has applications in data transmission, such as optical fibers, and more recently in optoelectronics, where the importance of material characterization allows the construction of devices for industrial, daily life, medical and academic applications. The Laboratory of Electro-Photonic Technologies and Laser Systems (LAFTESIL) has the generation of frontier knowledge in both primary and applied sciences as its general objective.
As part of these objectives is the formation of high-profile resources in areas such as materials characterization through the generation of new physical-mathematical models and their subsequent implementation through prototypes that verify the usefulness of these models. The laboratory has national and international collaborations such as the Center for Research in Optics A.C (CIO), the Polytechnic University of Tulancingo, the University of Utsunomiya in Japan, the University of Western Australia, and the University of Indiana in the United States.
